San Diego, Calif. – A busy weekend for the Nebraska track and field team began on Thursday as the Husker throwers started competition at the Triton Invitational at the University of California, San Diego.
The Huskers saw Chad Wright and Morgan Wilken throw in the men’s and women’s elite discus competitions. Wright finished second in the men’s competition, notching a personal-best throw of 207-11 (63.37). The mark cements his place as leader in the Big Ten Conference and moves him to second in the nation. Wilken finished sixth overall in the women’s competition after recording a throw of 173-5 (52.86).
The Husker throwers will continue competition at the Triton Invitational tomorrow while the rest of the team will compete at the Drake Relays.
