2023-24 (Freshman)
Desiree Buchert made her Husker program debut her freshman year, competing in five of nine regular season tournaments. Buchert’s season was highlighted by her first All-Tournament team placement at the Northeast Classic finishing fourth. Buchert ended the season with a 201.3 average for 21 games and a 264 season-high game. Off the lanes, Buchert excelled academically earning her a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll as well as selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team during her Freshman season.

Before Nebraska 
A four-year bowling letterwinner, Desiree Buchert attended William Howard Taft High School and was named the 2020 Freshman of the Year. Buchert was an all-state bowler for her entire high school career and is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as National Technical Honor Society at William Howard. In Buchert’s senior year (2023), she placed first in districts, second in regionals and fifth in state.  During Buchert’s club bowling career, she was named Bowler of the Month and was inducted into the Texas USBC Hall of Honor. She currently holds the title of champion of Pepsi Queens Champion City. 

Personal
The daughter of Charles and LaRonda Buchert, Desiree’s intended major is Criminal Justice. She will be following a legacy as her sister, Alexis Buchert, is currently a member of the Husker bowling team.
